Fortinet Reseller

Fortinet reseller for San Francisco, the Bay Area and Sacramento: FortiGate, FortiSwitch and FortiCare, quoted by the engineer who installs them.

We sell FortiGate firewalls, FortiSwitch, FortiAP, FortiManager and FortiAnalyzer, and the FortiCare and FortiGuard subscriptions that keep them supported. Every quote lists exact Fortinet part numbers and terms. The unit ships to your site and is registered to your Fortinet account. The engineer who quotes it can also size it, configure it and cut it over.

Want the network run for you after install? That is our Fortinet MSP in San Francisco service. This page covers buying Fortinet hardware, licenses and renewals.

What we sell

A FortiGate order is never one line. A complete quote covers the box, the subscription bundle and its term, and the parts people forget until install day. These are the product families we quote.

How buying from us works

Step 01

Size it, then quote exact SKUs

Send the circuit speed, user count, switch and AP count and what the firewall must do. We pick the model and bundle, check optics, PoE and HA, and send a written quote with every Fortinet part number and term. If you already know the SKU, we quote that.

Step 02

Written quote, prepaid

Hardware and subscriptions are quoted by exact part number and term. Shipping is billed at actual carrier cost on its own line, and sales tax follows the ship-to address. Payment clears before we place the distributor order.

Step 03

Drop-shipped, registered to you

We order through Fortinet’s distribution channel and the unit ships direct to your site. Serial numbers and subscription start and end dates go on your invoice. We register the hardware and licenses to your FortiCare account, not ours, so the support contract and RMA rights stay with you.

After the order

Renewal reminders before anything lapses

For every serial we sell or renew, we track the FortiCare expiry and contact you at 120, 90, 60 and 30 days out, with a renewal quote around the 90-day mark. If you run several units on different dates, we can quote a co-term so the fleet renews once.

Special-order terms, stated up front

Fortinet hardware and licenses are special-order items. Once the distributor order is placed it cannot be cancelled or returned, which is why sizing comes before the quote. Distributor returns, where allowed at all, carry restocking fees.

Why buy from the engineer who installs it

Any reseller can pass a part number to a distributor. The common FortiGate problems start before the box arrives: a model sized to the bare firewall number instead of threat-protection throughput, a bundle missing the service the design needed, optics nobody ordered, a unit registered to the previous IT company’s account. One engineer owns the bill of materials, the config assumptions and the cutover plan, so the quote is less likely to miss optics, license terms, logging, HA or renewal dates.

Replacing an end-of-life FortiGate

60E and 100E owners have hard dates. We map your unit to its current replacement, quote it, and move the config across. See FortiGate end of life replacement.

Coming from SonicWall, Sophos, Meraki or Cisco ASA

Policy translation, VPN rebuild and a written rollback plan, run as a fixed-fee project alongside the hardware order. See firewall migration services.

SSL-VPN users on the new box

Current FortiOS releases do not support SSL-VPN on many entry G-series models, including the 30G, 50G and 70G (see Fortinet’s CLI reference and our sizing guide). If remote users depend on SSL-VPN, we verify model and FortiOS support before quoting and plan IPsec or ZTNA where needed. See FortiGate SSL-VPN migration.

More than one site

HA pairs, SD-WAN between branches, FortiManager for central policy and one renewal date across the fleet. See Fortinet multi-site MSP.

Local coverage

We are based in Sacramento and work on site across San Francisco, Oakland, the East Bay, San Jose and the Peninsula, and throughout the Sacramento region. Hardware ships direct to your site wherever you are; configuration and staging happen remotely, and cutover is on site or remote-hands guided, your choice. Organizations outside California buy and get support from us remotely. If you want us to run the network after install, see our Fortinet MSP in San Francisco and Fortinet MSP in Sacramento pages.

Our Fortinet partner status, plainly

Ambio Edge Networks is a Fortinet Engage partner (Advocate, registered as a reseller and integrator) and buys through Fortinet’s authorized U.S. distribution, which is where our pricing and deal registration come from. Every unit is new, in-channel and registrable to your own Fortinet account. Our Fortinet partner ID goes on every quote so you can verify it with Fortinet. The engineer behind the quotes holds Fortinet, Cisco and CompTIA certifications.

Questions buyers ask

Can I buy just the hardware, without your services?

Yes. You do not need a managed-service plan or an install project to buy from us. One condition: every FortiGate we sell carries at least FortiCare, either inside a bundle or as its own SKU. A unit without active FortiCare may not have advance replacement or firmware entitlement after the included support window, so we do not sell it that way.

Can you renew a FortiGate that someone else sold us?

Yes. Renewals are tied to the serial number, not to the partner who sold the box. Send the serial and current expiry date from your FortiCare account and we quote the matching renewal SKU. The unit must be registered to your organization; a used unit bought from an auction site and still registered to its previous owner generally cannot be renewed until that is resolved.

How long does delivery take?

It depends on Fortinet’s supply and the distributor’s stock for the exact SKU, so we do not quote a standard lead time. When we quote, we check current stock with the distributor and tell you what it shows. Once the order ships, you get the tracking number.

What happens if a unit arrives dead or fails later?

Warranty, support and RMA are Fortinet’s, delivered under FortiCare. Report a dead-on-arrival unit right away and we open the RMA with the distributor and Fortinet on your behalf. Advance replacement needs an active FortiCare contract; without one, Fortinet’s return-then-replace process applies. Replacement timing is set by Fortinet.

Can I buy the hardware elsewhere and have you install it?

Usually, yes. Make sure the unit is new, comes through an authorized Fortinet channel and can be registered to your own account; gray-market, used or previously registered units can be refused support. We configure and install customer-supplied FortiGate hardware when it is supportable and registrable.

Who owns the Fortinet account and the licenses?

You do. Hardware and subscriptions are registered to your FortiCare account. If you stop working with us, the support contract, firmware access and renewal history go with you.

What do I need to send for a quote?

For a new firewall: internet circuit speed, user count, number of switches and access points, PoE needs, and what the firewall must do (site-to-site VPN, remote access, SD-WAN, HA). For a renewal: the serial number and current expiry. For a replacement: the current model and serial. Include the ship-to address so tax and freight are right.

Which FortiGuard bundle do we actually need?

Most offices need UTP (intrusion prevention, antivirus, web and DNS filtering, application control) plus FortiCare. Enterprise adds features that regulated or larger networks use. FortiCare alone fits if you only need hardware support and firmware updates. We size it with you before we quote.
