Opengear Lighthouse: pricing by node count

Lighthouse is Opengear’s central management software for a fleet of console servers. It is licensed by subscription, priced by how many Opengear appliances (nodes) it manages.

How Lighthouse connects your sites

Drawing: engineers sign in to Opengear Lighthouse, running as a VM in a data center or cloud. Four enrolled appliances connect to it over Lighthouse VPN tunnels: an OM1304-4E-C at branch A, a CM8004-C at branch B, a CM8116-10G at headquarters and an OM2224-24E-10G-L in a data center row. What the drawing shows

  • Each appliance keeps its own encrypted Lighthouse VPN tunnel to Lighthouse.
  • Engineers sign in to Lighthouse with named accounts and role-based access, then open any node’s console ports.
  • Four appliances use four of a 10-node subscription.
  • Encrypted tunnel
  • Engineer’s session

Lighthouse Core vs Enhance

Opengear sells Lighthouse in two current tiers, which need Lighthouse 24.12 or newer. Both include support for the length of the subscription.

Core and Enhance

  • Dashboard, jobs, alerting and monitoring for every enrolled appliance
  • Console port access and a web terminal through Lighthouse
  • Enrollment, templates, Smart Groups and firmware management across the fleet
  • Zero-touch provisioning for -LSP hardware models
  • Role-based access control, Lighthouse VPN tunnels, multi-instance high availability, REST API and backups

Enhance adds

  • Smart Management Fabric: routed access to the IP devices behind each appliance, not only its console ports
  • Click-to-Connect access to those devices, which needs Smart Management Fabric

List prices from Opengear’s U.S. price list effective October 26, 2026, shown for reference; we confirm the exact part number and price when we quote. Each price covers up to the number of nodes shown for the whole term. Part numbers follow the pattern LH-CORE-10-1YR or LH-ENHANCE-100-3YR (tier, node count, term).

Lighthouse Enterprise

Opengear’s price list still carries Lighthouse Enterprise subscriptions, in 1-year terms only. Opengear says existing subscriptions can run through their current term and move to the current tiers at renewal; we confirm with Opengear which tier fits before we quote a renewal.

Which Opengear models need Lighthouse

None of them require it. Every current model has its own web interface and command line, and every one can enroll in Lighthouse as one node: Opengear OM1300 · Opengear CM8000 · Opengear CM8100 · Opengear OM2200. The models ending in -LSP ship with Lighthouse Service Portal enabled for zero-touch enrollment, at the same list price as the base model.

Lighthouse earns its place when engineers need one sign-in for many appliances, central firmware and configuration, or, with Enhance, routed access to the devices behind them. Whether a deployment needs it is settled when we scope the work.

Lighthouse questions

Do we need Lighthouse?

Not always. Whether a deployment needs Lighthouse depends on the remote-access design, the carrier connection and how many sites you run. We settle that when we scope the work and quote any Lighthouse licensing as its own line.

What is a node?

Opengear counts each enrolled appliance as a node; a subscription covers up to the number in its name.

Are there multi-year terms?

Yes. Lighthouse Core and Lighthouse Enhance are sold in 1-year, 3-year and 5-year terms; the list prices are in the tables above. Lighthouse Enterprise is listed in 1-year terms. We quote the term and tier that fit.
